When the Washington Redskins signed DeSean Jackson, there were a lot of people who thought there would be upheaval of some sort and we’ve seen the happen right away. While nothing too drastic has happened, we have some always exciting jersey number news to report as two players will be wearing new jerseys in 2014.
As everyone knows by this point, DeSean Jackson will be wearing the No. 11 next season but another player has decided to use the topic of jersey numbers coming up to switch his. According to the Redskins official site, Cousins will be switching back to the No. 8, which was the number he wore while quarterback at Michigan State.
"I caught up with Cousins last night at the team’s special screening of the movie “Draft Day,” and he told me Roberts is making a $12,000 donation to the Kirk Cousins Football Camp for the rights to wear Cousins’ No. 12.Cousins, meanwhile, will now wear No. 8 — the number he wore from eighth grade through his senior year at Michigan State."
The change comes courtesy of new wide receiver Andre Roberts who is making a donation to Cousins’ charity in order to wear the No. 12.
