The Detroit Lions are looking at what they should do for the NFL Draft this May and it’s still a mixed bag of trading up for a player, trading back to get more picks or seeing what falls to them when they go on the clock. One of the players they’ve been looking at is wide receiver Sammy Watkins, but the Lions will have to go with the first of the aforementioned options in May if they want to get him.
It’s not known if the Lions will trade up to get Watkins, but it’s known that he was visiting with Lions brass this week.
What is also known is that Watkins will not fall to the Lions — plain and simple. The Raiders are eying him, the Buccaneers and Vikings are eyeing him and teams like the Falcons, Browns and even the Rams are considering Watkins in the top 10.
Detroit could use Watkins and form a three headed beast of Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate and Watkins, but they’d need to trade up to get any chance of that happening.
