Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback Tom Savage has been one of the hottest quarterback prospects in recent weeks, with many believing that his draft stock has soared into the second-round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

With Savage receiving so much attention recently, it is important to note that he had a pre-draft visit with the St. Louis Rams.

Savage’s visit with the Rams occurred on Wednesday, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan.

With Savage’s size,  6-foot-4, 228 pounds, and his impressive arm strength, he appears to be a heavy favorite to be selected in the first- or second-round of the draft. That is right in the area where the Rams could consider adding a quarterback to their roster.

There is also an interesting connection between Savage and the Rams.

Prior to transferring to Pittsburgh, Savage was a member of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football program, where he played under offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti, who now serves as the St. Louis Rams quarterback coach.
