According to a report from TMZ Sports, San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick is currently under investigation in Miami for an alleged sexual assault that took place earlier this month in a city hotel.
"San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is being investigated for a possible sexual assault at a hotel in Miami, Florida … law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports.We’re told the alleged incident took place at the Viceroy Hotel in Miami earlier this month.Our sources tell us … the investigation is in its “beginning stages” and no charges have been filed against anyone at this point."
TMZ also stated in the report that they have tried to reach out to Kaepernick and his agent for comment, although those attempts have warranted no results.
Kaepernick burst onto the NFL scene two seasons ago when he stepped into the starting role for the Niners and led them straight to the Super Bowl in his first year as a starter. This past season, he nearly led the team back to the big game, losing to the rival Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game.
