Among options being considered by Knicks is signing Odom to deal w/team option for next season that would give them summer to evaluate him

Odom, 34, has been out of the NBA this season and recently signed with a team in Spain but that was short-lived after he appeared in only six minutes in his first game and later returned to the U.S. with an injured back, but after meeting with Phil Jackson last week, rumors began to circulate about a potential comeback.
Odom has been a shell of himself since taking home the award for being the top sixth man in the league. He averaged four points and 5.9 rebounds per game with the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2012-2013 season. He averaged 6.2 and 4.6, respectively the year before with the Dallas Mavericks which began his downward spiral and subsequent ouster from the NBA.
It may be worth the gamble to sign Odom and keep tabs on him over the summer and get him in shape to see if he has any gas left in the tank and if he can be a role-player next year for the Knicks. This very well may be his final chance at playing in the NBA again.
