Masters results 2014: Bubba Watson claims green jacket
By Mike Dyce
Entering the final round of the 2014 Masters, youngster Jordan Spieth and Bubba Watson were tied for the lead at five-under-par. Spieth was the big story of the day and had he won he would’ve been the youngest ever to win the tournament, the first player to win a Major under the age of 21 since 1931 and the first to win their Masters debut since 1979.
A birdie on the second hole for Spieth, coupled with a Watson bogey on the third hole and Spieth had a two stroke lead. Spieth and Watson each had birdies on the fourth and sixth hole but a bogey on the fifth hole from Spieth allowed Watson to close the gap.

Spieth got another birdie on the seventh hole and had a two-stroke lead over Watson and looked poised to make a run at the green jacket. On the eighth hole is where things begin to go against Spieth. The youngster from Texas bogeyed while Watson birdied, pulling them even again.
That result repeated itself again on the ninth hole giving Watson a two-stroke lead over Spieth. They remained close and the momentum for Spieth really began to change when he found a water hazard on a close shot early in the back nine to surrender yet another bogey to drop to three strokes back. Watson also hit an incredible 366 yard drive on the par five 13th hole over a group of trees and was beginning to gain a lot of confidence and momentum.
On the 13th hole Watson increased his lead to three-strokes at eight-under par. Watson and Spieth both played through the rest of the round to finish a -8 and -5 respectively. Watson is the ninth two-time Masters champion.
After winning and fighting back some emotion, Watson was greeted by his young son in a special moment.
