The career of San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith is in doubt has he was arrested on Sunday afternoon for reportedly yelling ‘bomb’ at LAX. It’s been noted that the 49ers linebacker may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of his arrest but no matter what the reason was for his outburst, he’s in a lot of trouble because of it.
At the very least, Smith will be contemplating his options outside of s jail cell, as the San Jose Mercury News reports Smith was released on $20,000 bail following his arrest.
Per the San Jose Mercury News:
"Linebacker Aldon Smith has been released from a Los Angeles jail after posting $20,000 bail, shortly after being charged with making a false bomb threat earlier Sunday afternoon at LAX."
Smith has had a checkered past and his most recent run in with the law landed him in rehab in the middle of last season. But while he seemingly got help then, it’s clear he didn’t get enough and he has landed himself in the hottest water of his life.
