The Oklahoma City Thunder proved to be the Western Conference’s best team in the 2011-12 season. They made their way through the conference and made it to the 2012 NBA Finals where they defeated by the Miami Heat in five games.
Entering last season, they were considered the favorites to repeat as Western Conference Champions and many thought they could get dethrone the Heat to win the first NBA Title.
However, star point guard Russell Westbrook injured his knee and was forced to miss the rest of the postseason.
Although they were able to overcome the injury and finish off the Houston Rockets in the first round, they were fairly easily disposed by the Memphis Grizzlies in five games last year during the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
Although he re-injured the knee and missed time this season, Westbrook now looks healthy and is playing well. During the first half, he showed off his playoff face.
