The suspensions for players who took an active part in Sunday’s bench-clearing brouhaha (or is it Brew-haha in this case) between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers are starting to filter down, and according to CBSSports.com, Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole is going to get off lightly.

Of all the players who took part in the brawl, only Cole is coming out of it without a suspension.

Brewers catcher Manny Maldonado is being given a five-game seat on the bench, and his teammate, Carlos Gomez is being given three games for his part. Pirates Travis Snider and Russell Martin are both being given one-game suspensions.

Cole was one of the first to be involved, getting into a bit of a verbal altercation with Gomez after he took a Cole pitch deep to center field and flipped his bat on the way out of the box. The two started jawing at each other at third base, and then things started to get chippy, ending up with benches/bullpens clearing and punches being thrown (and landed).

Any players who are suspended for taking part in the fight cannot be replaced on the roster, which can sometimes cause major lineup hiccups for a manger.
