The Chicago Bulls believe they are in as close to a must-win situation as they can without actually facing elimination.

After losing to the Washington Wizards 102-93 in game 1 of their first round playoff series on Sunday night, the Bulls cannot afford to lose a second consecutive home and game head to the nation’s capital trailing two games to none.

The Bulls have certainly decided to make that task difficult by themselves, falling behind by 13 points halfway through the second quarter.  Trailing 45-32, the Bulls went on a 14-2 run to cut the lead to one. During the run, the Bulls became more physical in an attempt to send the Wizards a message. At one point, Bulls’ point guard Kirk Hinrich and Wizards’ guard Bradley Beal got into it.

The Wizards ended the half on a 7-1 run to take a 56-49 lead into the break.
