2014 NFL Draft Rumors: Tennessee Titans interested in AJ McCarron?
The Tennessee Titans are believed to be interested in drafting a quarterback at some point in the 2014 NFL draft to push Jake Locker and to potentially be the long-term solution at the position, but one name that won’t be drafted by the Titans is former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron after missing a predraft meeting.
The team not rescheduling the meeting is a strong indication that the team is moving on from any potential interest in one of the winningest quarterbacks in college football history.
McCarron has made some interesting decisions since the end of his college career, including passing on the opportunity to compete in the Senior Bowl in his hometown of Mobile, Al. and is in talks about filming a reality show with his fiancee about the planning of their wedding.
How sick could McCarron have been to miss what is is in effect a job interview? Anything short of a stint in the hospital would seem to be an invalid excuse, but maybe it wasa calculated decision by McCarron and his camp to not workout for the Titans for some reason.
In any event, we don’t know where McCarron will be drafted, somewhere on Day 2 most likely, but its safe to assume he crossed off one potential suitor by missing this visit.
