The Houston Texans have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and there is a growing belief that the team is leaning towards selecting South Carolina star Jadeveon Clowney. As far as Clowney’s former head coach Steve Spurrier is concerned, the selection would be a no-brainer.

When asked about whether or not the Texans should select Clowney, the old ball coach was quick to be on his former star’s side.

“Yeah, I think you have to,” Spurrier told Dan Patrick. “He’s a really good football player, and obviously pass rushing is what he does best. He’s a pass rusher like nobody I think I’ve ever seen in college football.”

Spurrier should be happy, because it looks like the Texans are currently listening to his suggestions.

We won’t know for sure whether or not Clowney will suit up in Houston next year, but we will have our answer in two weeks time.
