The Houston Texans hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and there has been plenty of speculation about what they may do. It was previously believed that the team would be looking to add a quarterback with the top pick in the draft, but now that no longer seems to be the case.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the latest buzz indicates that the Texans will either select South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney or Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack.
The other possibility would be to trade down from the pick.
By adding a dynamic pass rusher, the Texans would have a perfect complement opposite former Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt. They could then address their quarterback situation with the top pick on Day 2.
The likes of Jimmy Garoppolo, Zach Mettenberger, Derek Carr and Tom Savage could all be options if the Texans do end up going defense with the first pick of the draft.
