Roger Goodell has spoke about making the extra point more exciting in past months and now the NFL commissioner will get his wish as the NFL will kick extra points from the 15-yard line during the first two weeks of the preseason, according to Bob Glauber of Newsday.

In March the league tables a proposal that would have moved extra points to the 25-yard line which would have meant kickers would have to be successful from 42 yards out for teams to get the point after touchdown, so this is a compromise to have the new PAT be from 32 yards out.

The first two weeks of the preseason are glorified scrimmages with the starters playing very sparingly, so perhaps this is a means to get viewers to tune in a little more and for a little longer to see how the longer extra points shake out.
