NFL owners to discuss, potentially vote on 2014 playoff expansion on May 20th

The NFL world is fixated on the upcoming NFL draft in two weeks, and rightfully so considering the draft would begin today if the league did not move the date back a couple weeks.
However, another big issue facing the NFL is the potential expansion of the playoff field and commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL owners will meet after the draft on May 20th to discuss this option according to Newsday’s Bob Glauber.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said owners will discuss expanded playoffs at May 20 meeting in Atlanta.

Goodell: possible owners vote on expanded playoffs for 2014 @ May 20 mtg. But he said if no vote is taken then, won't happen this season.

fyi: A lot has to happen before expanded playoffs become a reality. 1. Owners must approve. 2. Players must approve.

I am skeptical this will take place for the 2014 season, but believe it is inevitable that it will happen by as soon as the 2015 season. The financial gain is just too much for the league owners to ignore.
