Conflicting reports are a common thing in sports reporting as one outlet thinks they have a scoop and another things they have the anti-scoop. Such is the case with the strange Ndamukong Suh trade rumors that began swirling this week after a few different reports surfaced claiming the Lions were covering all of their bases in contract negotiations.
According to Jason La Canfora though, the Lions have no interest in trading Suh and are focused on getting a long-term contract hashed out.
I'm told Lions trying to re-sign Suh; no trade ahead. He's on the same offseason program last 3 years. Absence not contract related

This clashes with mostly all of the reports we’ve heard but it also sort of clarifies those reports as well. While no one was reporting that the Lions are aggressively trying to move Suh, La Canfora is merely pointing out that any trade talks that may or may not have happened are not being pursued seriously.
It’s still nice leverage for the Lions to have, even if it’s not something that will play a major role in getting a deal done or not.
