Donald Sterling has a lot to answer for in the wake of his racist comments that TMZ made public late last night. While he has yet to say anything — well, other than the comments that have landed him in boiling water — others around the NBA are and the consensus seems to be that Sterling is a racist moron.

Magic Johnson is leading the charge and is calling for fans, specifically African American fans, to boycott Clippers games.

Per TMZ:

"Magic says he strongly believes the players should focus on playing basketball and should NOT boycott Sunday’s playoff game.  BUT, Magic thinks African Americans should not line Sterling’s pockets by going to the games, saying, “He wants our money but doesn’t want us to show up.”"

Sterling’s comments couldn’t be any more mind boggling than they currently are and there’s no getting out of it. Johnson has a very valid point in that there should be a boycott but not of just African American fans but fans of all races. Sterling’s comments sting anyone with a conscious and it’s going to be hard to go to a Clippers game and pay Donald Sterling knowing full well that you’re paying a racist.

The Clippers players deserve support but that shouldn’t come with the stigma of paying Donald Sterling to do so.
