The Indiana Pacers are the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and are facing a tough series against the Atlanta Hawks in which they could be eliminated before next weekend. The San Antonio Spurs are in an identical situation with the Dallas Mavericks over in the Western Conference as the No 8 seed Mavs continue to keep pressure on their in-state rivals and put up another outstanding fight in Game 3.

In the fourth quarter — more specifically the final minute of the court quarter — the lead changed a number of times as just when it looked like the Spurs may be pulling away for the final time, the Mavs found a way to tie the game. Monta Ellis owned the final minute of the game offensively for the Mavericks and kept Dallas in it as long as he could.

But it was Vince Carter who was the hero on the night as he drained a three pointer at the buzzer to win the game for Dallas. It was vintage Vince Carter to say the least and no matter how old he is, he looked exactly that in the final 1. seconds and has given Dallas a 2-1 series lead.
