The Cincinnati Reds have placed catcher Devin Mesoraco on the 15 day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.  Mesoraco hurt the hamstring in the seventh inning of Friday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.  For a list of players to pick up in Mesoraco’s absence, go here.

Brayan Pena will now be the primary catcher in Cincinnati for the next two weeks.  Those in deeper leagues can pick him up.  He could be a sneaky source of power.

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jean Segura left Saturday’s game against the Chicago Cubs in the first inning after being inadvertently hit by teammate Ryan Braun‘s bat while Braun was warming up in the dugout in the middle of the first inning.  Segura did not suffer any fractures or a concussion, but will not be available for Sunday’s game because of swelling.  Segura is not expected to miss more than two games.

Ryan Braun himself left the game after the eighth inning with an intercostal strain.  The good news is that Braun is only expected to miss one or two games, and it is not a wrist issue.  The bad news is that the Brewers will be really short on the bench today.

The Chicago White Sox have placed third baseman Conor Gillaspie on the 15 day disabled list with a bruised left hand.  Marcus Semien will take over at third base with newly activated Gordon Beckham playing at second.  If you need help in deeper leagues, Semien might be worth an add, especially in leages that counts walks or on base percentage.

The Washington Nationals will hold outfielder Bryce Harper out of the lineup again Sunday with hopes of him returning for Tuesday’s game against the Astros in Houston.  That return all hinges on the results of Harper’s MRI, which should be available sometime today.

Oakland outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is also expected to miss today’s game.  Reports indicate that if he were absolutely needed that he could play though, so he should be back very soon.

Minnesota third baseman Trevor Plouffe left the game in the seventh inning with tingling in his hand after being hit by an Anibal Sanchez pitch in the fourth inning.  He will miss Sunday’s game.  Anything beyond that is uncertain right now.

Those of you with daily lineup changes need to make sure you have replacements ready for Devin Mesoraco, Bryce Harper, Jean Segura, Yoenis Cespedes, Trevor Plouffe, and Ryan Braun for today.  For those of you that play in daily leagues, make sure that you do not pick any of these players in your lineup.  Those sites are not always on top of injuries!
