This has not been the year of the professional sports owner as Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s racist rant comes on the heels of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay getting arrested for possession of prescription drugs that did not belong to him.

While Sterling’s racism is an ignorant mental disease, Irsay’s situation is more tragic as it’s a treatable disease that is clearly ruining his life in the worst of ways. It’s easy to hate Donald Sterling but it’s more confusing to place your finger on a feeling towards Irsay who is someone you pity more than you hate.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Peyton Manning is trying to help his former boss as much as he can and has revealed he recently reached out to Irsay to offer support.

Manning didn’t elaborate on what he said to Irsay though, noting that it’s a private matter that he won’t discuss publicly. That’s probably the best thing to do as Irsay’s problem is much different that Sterling’s and his health is in danger from the disease he’s been battling for a majority of his life.
