Earl Thomas and the Seattle Seahawks agreed to a record-breaking deal for a safety yesterday when he agreed to a four-year deal worth $40 million and nearly $28 in guaranteed money to be the highest-paid safety in the NFL.
You can understand how excited the All-Pro safety would be to get to the Seahawks press conference today to announce the signing, maybe if he driving a little faster than he should for one of the bigger days of his life as Thomas was pulled over on the way there, but Thomas says the officer let him off.
Earl Thomas says he got pulled over on the way to his contract extension presser. "He let me off. That's the moral of the story."

I imagine the conversation between the officer went like this:
Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over? Hey, aren’t you Earl Thomas?!
Thomas: Yes, officer I am. Sorry, I’m in a hurry as I’m on my way to a press conference right now.
Officer: Drive safely.
