Johnny Manziel is about one week away from realizing a dream and officially becoming an NFL star. As of this time, there are a lot of teams that are said to have interest in the Heisman winner, most of whom are in the Top 10 of the Draft order. But the interest doesn’t just stop with them. No, it also grow to teams outside of the top group and that includes the Philadelphia Eagles.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly was recently asked about Manziel’s recruitment coming out of college and spoke very highly of Johnny Football, leading some to believe that a reunion with Kelly and Manziel could take place at some point next week.

Well recently Eagles GM Howie Roseman spoke about the team’s draft board, and he didn’t completely rule out the interest in the sizzling star.

“We’re going to stick to our board on (possibly drafting Manziel),” Roseman told Philadelphia’s WIP-FM on Wednesday. “I think that for us, it all depends on the grade. I think that when Coach (Chip Kelly) was talking about (Manziel), he was talking about recruiting, and there’s a lot of players in this draft, when we get in the draft room, that coach is excited about.”

Of course, as much as people would like to see Manziel working in that high-powered Kelly offense at the NFL level, there’s many reasons to believe that the team taking him in the draft is ridiculous.

To begin with, Nick Foles showed tremendous promise last season, as was evidenced by their run to the NFC East championship and subsequent appearance in the playoffs.

Then you have to factor in that the Eagles would more than likely have to trade up to make that pick, which just given what was mentioned above with Foles, would be a terrible move.

But then again, Chip Kelly is a very unpredictable man.
