With their backs against the wall facing a do-or-die Game 6, the Brooklyn Nets came out firing, getting out to a huge lead over the Toronto Raptors and holding on for a 97-83 victory. The win evens the series at three and forces a Game 7 on Sunday.

The Nets were led by Deron Williams, who scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists. Joe Johnson added 17 points, Kevin Garnett scored 13 and Paul Pierce had 12.

DeMar DeRozan led all scorers with 28 points while Kyle Lowry, who shot four-of-16 from the field, was the only other Raptor to score in double figures, finishing with 11. As a team, the Raptors shot just 38.5% from the field while the Nets connected on 46.8% of their shots.

The Nets absolutely dominated the early going, taking a 34-19 lead after a quarter and pushing the lead to 19 at the half. Heading into the fourth quarter, the lead was 79-59. Then, much like the Nets did in Game 5, the Raptors began to rally. Down 84-62, they scored 11 straight points to the lead to 11 and soon had it down to 10 with just over two minutes to go, but a three from Williams ended the Raptors’ hopes.

Game 7 is Sunday at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
