With the Toronto Raptors trying to rally back from a double digit deficit to defeat the Brooklyn Nets in Game 7 of their first round series, both teams caught a break during the fourth quarter.
Down 90-82, Amir Johnson tripped Joe Johnson and picked up his sixth foul, leaving the game after a fantastic outing, finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds. As Kevin Garnett went to check on Johnson, Kyle Lowry walked right into him. Lowry gave Garnett a little bump and Garnett gave him a bigger one back, which the referee saw. Garnett was issued a technical foul and the Raptors hit the free throw to cut the lead to seven. It was a fantastic acting job by Lowry, who looked like he was hit much harder than he actually was. It was a pretty iffy call to make in such a huge situation.
The winner will meet the two-time defending NBA Champion Miami Heat in the next round.
