With the draft just a a day away, teams are starting to look at what they can do to improve with what this class provides and part of getting better means taking risks. Trading around the draft is the best way to get who you want and that’s what the Denver Broncos might try on Thursday.
According to Tony E. Renck of the Denver Post, the Broncos want an inside linebacker and may end up not only getting one in the draft, but may trade up to the middle of the first-round to get one. More specifically, Renck says that the Broncos would surprise no one if they moved up to draft Alabama’s C.J. Mosley.
Denver drafting Mosley would not only give them a big linebacker to roll out on defense but it gives them options and a partner for Von Miller moving forward. There is some doubt that Miller will remain in Denver due to his fifth year option causing so much 11th hour drama, but there’s no one who actually and honestly believes Miller will get away from Denver.
So while it seems Mosley is an insurance policy for Miller, the only insurance he’d provide is filling for him when he’s hurt and being an anchor with him when he’s not.
