The San Francisco 49ers are flirting with the idea of trading up in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night.
The 49ers made a move last year, giving up a second round pick to move from 31 to 18 and select former LSU Tigers’ safety Eric Reid.
This year, the 49ers are extremely interested in another former Tiger, wide receiver Odell Beckham. Getting their hands on Beckham may require getting into the top 10.
According to Tim Kawakami of The San Jose Mercury News, the 49ers do indeed want to move into the top 10, but won’t give up a future first round pick to do it.
Sounds like the 49ers explored getting into the top 10 but it would cost them next year's #1 and that's not their style. Won't do it.

"Target" does not mean the 49ers ONLY will take a WR in the 1st. It means if they move up, it'd probably be for a targeted WR who is there.

Another target could be former Oregon State Beavers’ wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who along with Beckham, is a reported target.
If the 49ers don’t trade up, they could opt for former Florida State Seminoles’ wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.
