2014 NFL Draft trade value chart

The 2014 NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday night, and this year’s draft in New York City is as certain as ever. There is a good chance that a number of teams will be looking to trade up or down, but what will it take to execute a trade?

There has been a draft trade value chart since the early 90s thanks to former NFL head coach Jimmie Johnson. While the draft is now not as exact thanks to the rookie wage scale, it can still be used as a tool to see what it may take to make a significant leap in the draft order.

As an example, if a team wants to move up from No. 3 overall to the first pick, it would cost them 800 points. In order to accomplish that, a team would need to package their second- and third-round picks (550 + 255 = 805) to make the trade an equal value for both sides involved.
