The Detroit Lions, in recent years, just seem like one of those teams that’s on the cusp of something great, yet they just can’t get over the hump for whatever reason.

Well this past offseason, they made a huge step in the direction of getting things on track when they fired head coach Jim Schwartz and then hired former Colts head coach, the no-nonsense Jim Caldwell, who is now tasked with trying to put the right pieces in place to get the Lions to the top of the NFL North.

The focus of that process now is focused solely on the NFL Draft which begins Thursday night. In this draft, the Lions hold the 10th overall pick, which is a rather good position to select someone who could potentially make an instant difference in production.

However, lately there has been whispers that the Lions might have some particular players in mind that they want and could potentially pull the trigger on a trade to get up further and grab them early.

Here’s a look at two possible scenarios for Caldwell and the Lions on Thursday.
