The New York Giants were sitting on the clock at No. 12 overall, with a number of interesting prospects still on the board. The Giants could have gone offensive tackle, defensive line or potentially even quarterback to push Eli Manning.
Despite the temptation to perhaps take a player like Johnny Manziel and the offensive and defensive line, the Giants went in a different direction and decided to draft LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Eli Manning will now have another weapon on the outside, but the team will need to focus on protecting him sooner rather than later.
Here is what the fans are saying on Twitter:
Was the #Giants bigger problem receiver last year or protecting Eli? Beckam a good talent, but think they could have added receiver later.

Smart pick for the #Giants right now would be Zach Martin. Get Eli the protection he needs! #NFLDraft
