When it came to what the New York Giants wanted to do at No. 12 overall, there was a lot of intrigue late in the process as Johnny Manziel’s name came up out of absolutely nowhere on Draft Day. That speculation ended up being false though, as the Giants stayed put at No. 12 and went with a much more sensical pick.

The New York Giants ended up drafting Odell Beckham, the speedy wide receiver from LSU with the No. 12 overall pick.

The pick makes a lot of sense for the Giants as it gives them someone who can fill a big hole on the roster that they needed shored up in the long haul. Eli Manning now has a speedy target to play with and use in his offense, which should lead to an improvement in production in 2014.
