The NFL Draft is tonight and while we’re hearing about possible trades that involve picks, we also have been hearing about some players who could be included in potential deals. One player we’ve heard a lot about over an extended period of time — like, since last December — is Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Many believed at the end of the season that Washington would try to flip Cousins for draft picks and only recently have we heard about the Cleveland Browns being interested in just a deal.
According to Jason La Canfora though, despite rumors that the Browns could move the No. 26 pick to acquire Kirk Cousins there have been no talks about such a deal occurring since we first heard about them.
Such a trade seems like it could happen at any point during the draft, and it’s unlikely that the Browns forfeit a first rounder for Cousins. A far more likely option is that they flip a later round pick for him, and that could be something to anticipate should the Browns finish the first round having passed on drafting a quarterback.
It’s far from a done deal and apparently hasn’t been spoken of in a while, but the Browns acquiring Cousins has been talked about in the past and we may see it heat up again on Draft night.
