The St. Louis Rams have been in a lot of different rumors lately thanks to their possession of the highly coveted No. 2 overall pick in the draft. But while there has been talk of the team possibly taking a chance on Johnny Manziel, the team apparently isn’t ready to give up on Sam Bradford.

According to Rams beat writer Jim Thomas, St. Louis informed quarterback Sam Bradford that they would be putting up a smokescreen about Manziel to raise the price on the No. 2 pick.

Per the St. Louis Dispatch:

"Bradford, by the way, was informed about the Manziel smokescreen by the Rams before the fact, according to league sources."

This seems to make sense, as we heard over the weekend that the Minnesota Vikings were interested in Bradford before being informed that he is not available. The Rams also made out pretty nice with the trading of their 2012 No. 2 overall pick in which they could have drafted Robert Griffin III but instead picked up, among other considerations, this current No. 2 pick in a trade with the Redskins.

That seems like it will be the case again this year as there may be a different prospect attached, but the Rams are looking to make out like bandits yet again.
