The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were heavily rumored to be taking a quarterback at No. 7 overall and that didn’t happen. They were then rumored to be trading back into the first round to take a quarterback but that didn’t happen either and it’s looking similarly unlikely that they’ll find a 2014 starter in the draft or a franchise quarterback of the future.
As a result, that whole attempting to trade Mike Glennon phase the Bucs went through has passed and no such trade pursuit is being made.
We also heard last night that the Buccaneers believe Glennon is the quarterback of the future which seems to be a complete 180 from what was being said leading up to the draft. Either way, given how much we heard the Bucs wanting to move on from Glennon before the draft, we won’t believe anything Tampa Bay says about quarterbacks until Glennon is indeed the man of the future and no rookies are added to challenge.
