The series between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder took a controversial turn on Tuesday when a comedy of errors led to the Thunder coming from behind to beat the Clippers and take a 3-2 series lead. But while the thunder now control the series, the final three minutes of Game 5 will be dissected and discussed to no end in the following few days as one particular play seemed to have cost the Clippers the game and possibly the entire series.

On the controversial play, Reggie Jackson appeared to have touched the ball last as it raveled out of bounds but despite a good look at the replay, the officials called the ball for Oklahoma City and not for Los Angeles. This led to a foul call against the Clippers that sent Russell Westbrook to the free throw line to win the game.

Needless to say, Doc Rivers was not tickled and went off in his postgame press conference saying, among other things, that replay should be abolished and the the play may define the series.

We might see a fine coming Rivers’ way for calling out the officials but we may also see them send an apology his way for blowing what seemed to be an obvious call against the Oklahoma City Thunder that ended up changing the outcome of the game.
