NBA Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves & Utah Jazz interested in Lionel Hollins
Because there are so many openings in the NBA this season, many former coaches are going to get another shot at a job.
Alvin Gentry and Vinny Del Negro have already been mentioned with the open Cleveland Cavaliers’ job because of their relationship with Cavaliers’ general manager David Griffin. George Karl, who was fired by the Denver Nuggets after winning Coach of the Year last season, has been mentioned for a few job and former New Jersey (now Brooklyn) Nets, Cavaliers and New Orleans Hornets’ (now Pelicans) coach Byron Scott could get the Los Angeles Lakers’ job.
Another coach who has a number of teams interested in them is former Memphis Grizzlies’ head coach Lionel Hollins.
Hollins did a fantastic job with the Grizzlies. He went 214-201 with the team and if you take out his first two runs with the team (18-42 in 1999-2000 and 0-4 in 2004-2005), he went 196-155, including an 18-17 playoff record and a trip to the 2013 Western Conference Finals, from 2008-2013.
