The Detroit Pistons have now made the hiring of former Miami Heat and Orlando Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy as president and head coach official.

Many believe one his first moves will be to try to trade restricted free agent Greg Monroe because of the logjam in the front court.

The Charlotte Bobcats are expected to be players for Monroe and the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly going to offer Monroe a max contract.

The Dallas Mavericks are another team that could have the space to take Monroe.

Sean Deveney of The Sporting News adds another team that could be very interested in Monroe – the New Orleans Pelicans.

"Multiple league executives said that New Orleans, where Monroe is from, would be on his list, and it is easy to imagine a pairing of Monroe with young star big man Anthony Davis.Either way, the arrival of Van Gundy means that Monroe’s tenure in Detroit is probably over."

Last season, Monroe averaged 15.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
