There is growing drama up in Brooklyn when it comes to the future of point guard Deron Williams and his happiness with the organization. Despite signing a massive contract extension with the team that is paying him more money than some think his play deserves, a new report suggests that the Nets and Williams aren’t seeing eye to eye at the moment and that Williams is unhappy in Brooklyn.
According to Nets beat writer Devin Kharpertian, Brooklyn doesn’t feel like they got fair value in the Williams trade with Utah because they player they traded for wasn’t the one who showed up.
"“He’s frustrated,” the source told The Brooklyn Game. “He’s not happy with himself. He’s not up to his standards in the three years since we got him.”"
It’s hard to tell what to believe when teams and superstar players start feuding and third parties go to the press to amplify the situation. Williams hasn’t requested a trade and the Nets may be willing to deal him but will find it hard to move the mammoth contract they gave him.
So, in the end it seems the two sides will just have to work it out and learn to live with each other.
