The New Orleans Saints added a little bit of depth and help on special teams today as they were able to agree on a contract with former Chicago Bears defensive end/linebacker Cheta Ozougwu. This is according to Adam Caplan on Twitter.
#Saints will also sign former Bears and Texans DE/OLB Cheta Ozougwu.

Ozougwu was the last prospect drafted in the 2011 draft by the Houston Texans which makes him Mr. Irrelevant. He has never really made an impact during games but recorded a sack as a Chicago Bear against the Denver Broncos. Ozougwu sacked former Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Hanie in a 31-3 loss.
The young defensive end would later be released and brought back by the Chicago Bears two-third different times. He provided the team a little bit of depth on the practice squad and recorded his first career sack against the Baltimore Ravens on November 16.
Chicago waived him just one month ago. So now that he’s with the New Orleans Saints, he’ll have another opportunity to compete for playing time.
