The Golden State Warriors seem to be very serious about acquiring Kevin Love and they also seem to have the pieces to make it happen. While the Wolves have stated they do not plan on trading Love before the draft, it’s becoming more and more of a reality that they’ll need to trade him at some point in the offseason and Golden State seems to be at the top of the list when it comes to assets they can offer.

According to the San Jose Mercy News, the Dubs could realistically package together their first-round draft pick in 2015, Harrison Barnes and David Lee to acquire Love from the Wolves.

This trade seems to make sense, especially when it’s mentioned that Draymond Green could get thrown in as a kicker, despite his being a part of the trade not barring any real financial weight. Klay Thompson will not be a part of any deal the Wolves are able to makes, as we heard last night, and that only seems to put an emphasis on the Dubs giving up Barnes to kick off trade talks.

It’s pretty impossible for the Warriors to lowball the Wolves in trade talks, as they need to have a deal that is sweater than one the Phoenix Suns or Chicago Bulls can offer and those deals could get pretty rich. Chicago can offer jimmy Butler, Carlos Boozer and both of their first-round draft picks this year to land Love and if they don’t want to trade Butler then they can throw in any number of their other pieces like Kirk Hinrich or Taj Gibson.

Phoenix has four first rounders they can offer plus assets like Goran Dragic and Miles Plumlee if the four first rounders don’t suffice.

The bottom line is, the Warriors have what it takes to be in the conversation to acquire Kevin Love but the question is will they be willing to part ways with massive cornerstones in their franchise or would they rather pass and take their chances trying to control talks and see how rings end up that way.
