For the second straight offseason, it looks like the Memphis Grizzlies are going to be looking for a new coach.
After advancing to the 2013 Western Conference Finals, the team parted ways with Lionel Hollins and hired Dave Joerger to replace him. After Joerger’s won 50 games despite a season full of injuries and pushed the Los Angeles Clippers to seven games, he may be moving on as well – the Grizzlies have given him permission to interview with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Early reports suggested that former Sacramento Kings’ coach Eric Musselman could be in line for the job, Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders reported that Musselman will not be a candidate for the job.
Chris Vernon mentioned several high profile candidates – George Karl, Jeff Van Gundy and Alvin Gentry in connection with the gig and confirmed that Musselman will not be considered for the job.
