Apple promises to fix bugs with iMessage

If someone you know has sent sent you a message, and you can’t access that specific message, it can be annoying. This is one problem with Apple’s iMessage, the exclusive Apple messaging service that launched in 2011, as well as several other issues that users have been complaining about recently.

The big complaint is that losing access to text messages after moving from iOS to another mobile OS, says PC Mag.

The problem comes up when an iPhone user decides to swap their phone for an Android or Windows device, but prefers to keep the same number.

The huge flaw in Apple’s messaging system is that it still recognizes the number as an iPhone, in the process sending texts to the current non-existent iPhone rather than sending the message to your new smartphone.

One way to avoid this is by turning off iMessage and unchecking your phone number on your iPhone before you turn it in.

Apple did address the problem this week, by telling Re/code it “recently fixed a server-side iMessage bug which was causing the issue for some users.”

“And we have an additional bug fix in a future software update,” a spokesman said, adding that those users still experiencing an issue should contact AppleCare. There is no word on when they will roll out that update.

This is a problem that Apple needs to fix, because if someone wants to get a new phone, they shouldn’t have to go through so much to retrieve their messages.

We can only hope that the update in the future will fix this problem.
