It’s their only four-game home stand before jumping back on the road again next Monday to take on the Milwaukee Brewers.
According to Pete Michaud on Twitter, the Orioles called up left-handed pitcher T.J. McFarland from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned right-hander Preston Guilmet back to the same affiliate.
McFarland will be making his second stint of the season with the big league club during today’s ballgame against the Indians. He currently carries a 3.86 ERA out of the bullpen and will work a long-relief role during his time on the active roster.
Baltimore needed a fresh arm available after using five relievers during last night’s game against the Tribe so they decided to roll with the lefty.
Guilmet, the man who drew the short stick, continues to jump back and forth between the Major League and Minor league roster as it’s his third trip back to the Minors this season.
There’s a slight chance that he could end up back on the active roster within the next week or two depending on how many arms they use during the road trip.
