The Chicago Bulls have a lot of decision making to do this offseason when it comes to how they handle their offseason and one of the scenarios being kicked around involves the possible acquisition of Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves. A lot needs to happen before anyone is trading for Love, but the Bulls seem to be up their on the list and that has many wondering what it would take to get him into the Windy City.

More from Chicago Bulls

Carlos Boozer is not among the possible disposable options. While his expiring contract may be an attractive trade chip, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that it’s far more likely for the Bulls to amnesty Boozer than to use him as a trade chip in the offseason.

This might anger Bulls fans, as Boozer’s value as a trade chip might be the most valuable he’s ever been with the team during his long and torturous tenure with the team. With few highlights and a lot of lowlight moments with the Bulls, the Boozer-era in Chicago won’t be getting plastered onto posters or enshrined within the United Center anytime soon.

Still, there’s value in simply amnestying him as well since the Bulls would have him off their books and would only have to pay him ‘off the record’ and not technically out of their pocket. But trading Boozer may still be an option, as the Bulls want to get better now and can’t afford to simply cut bait and hope that the money they save makes them happier.

It’s also tough to say the Timberwolves would want Boozer as he’s not been the spectacular forward you’d want to swap Kevin Love for – not that Minnesota is going to get fair value back anyways. Either way, Boozer looks to be on his way out of Chicago but he will just be leaving in as unproductive a fashion as he spent his time there.
