The newest addition to the Cavs’ list of candidates is Los Angeles Clippers assistant Tyronn Lue, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
"Los Angeles Clippers assistant Tyronn Lue will interview for the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ head-coaching job late next week, league sources told Yahoo Sports."
Tyronn Lue joined the Boston Celtics as an assistant coach in 2009 following his final season as a player with the Orlando Magic. Lue spent 4 years in Boston before following Doc Rivers to Los Angeles last summer.
Tyronn Lue is considered one of the best young candidates for a head coaching position, and has experience in the head coaching role during past Summer Leagues in Boston. Lue spent 11 seasons in the NBA as a point guard for several teams including the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks.
Lue would be taking over as coach for a team fresh off a disappointing 33-49 season and the team recently continued their luck in the lottery by earning the first overall selection in the upcoming draft for the second consecutive year.
