Atlanta carried a 1-0 lead to the top of the sixth inning with the league’s leading hitter in multiple categories came to the plate. Troy Tulowitzki, veteran infielder for the Rockies is having himself a solid start to the 2014 campaign. Colorado already lost hot-corner man Nolan Arenado for at least six weeks with a broken finger after sliding head first into second base.
Tulowitzki extended the lead to 2-0 after crushing a solo shot and picked up a walk during the third inning. Tulo picked up a single during the top of the eighth inning to finish the day. He’s currently hitting an outrageous .382/.485/.739 with 14 home runs and 36 RBIs.
This year is definitely a All-Star season for Tulowitzki as he’s currently on pace to finish the season with 46 home runs and 119 RBIs. His career highs in both categories are 32 home runs (2009) and 105 RBIs (2011). The 29 year old from Santa Clara, California has played hero more than a dozen times for this Rockies organization.
He’s one of those players that you could see retiring with the same team that he debuted with. How are you enjoying the season so far Rockies fans?
