Texas made a couple solid acquisitions during the off-season as they were able to pick up free agent outfielder Shin-Soo Choo and made a huge trade with the Tigers for Prince Fielder.
Now the Rangers just found out a couple days ago that Fielder will have to undergo season ending neck surgery which was very disappointing to hear and leaves a noticeable hole in that lineup.
Outfielder Choo ended up making an early exit during today’s game against the Tigers according to Jeff Wilson on Twitter.
Wilson notes that Choo was experiencing a little bit of soreness in his ankle – the same ankle that he sprained back in April and will more than likely sit out tomorrow’s series finale against Detroit.
Thankfully it’s nothing too serious – it looked as if this team was slowly going downhill after losing Fielder for the year.
Choo exited the game going 1-3 with a walk and was caught stealing.
