The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have kept their Triple-A Salt Lake affiliate pretty busy to start off the 2014 regular season.

More from Los Angeles Angels

They’ve made at least 10-15 transactions over the first two months of the season as they have been hit with injuries.

Before taking the field against the Royals,  Los Angeles made a couple more roster moves that will not only give them insurance in their bullpen, but the starting rotation as well.

According to the Angels official Twitter handle, the team has optioned right-handed pitcher Matt Shoemaker to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Shoemaker has worked 22 2/3 innings out of the bullpen while striking out 20 and posting a respectable 3.18 ERA.

He’ll continue to provide this injury prone team with some depth in the Minors.

Left-handed pitcher Wade LeBlanc and the Angels were able to agree on a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training back in November. LeBlanc started the 2013 season with the Miami Marlins but was designated for assignment and claimed off waivers by the Houston Astros.

The Astros would also designate him for assignment near the end of June 2013 before moving him between their Triple-A affiliate and the big league club. LeBlanc elected free agency during the first week of October and was only without a contract for a little over a month.

The 29-year-old lefty performed great during Cactus League play, working 5 1/3 scoreless innings.
