The Chicago Blackhawks got off to a hot start in their series against the Los Angeles Kings but things have changed rather dramatically since Game 1. Not only did the Blackhawks drop their other home gem to start the series off but they dropped both road game in Los Angeles to fall into a 3-1 hole heading back to Chicago.

More from Chicago Blackhawks

It was a violent turn of events as the Blackhawks who looked so dominant against the Wild last series and the Kings in Game 1 are a shell of their former selves and are now up against the ropes of what would be a painful sand utterly embarrassing exit from the postseason.

Chicago just hasn’t lost, they’ve lost bad to the Kings as they haven’t been in any of the games they’ve lost beyond the first period. That was the case again on Monday night in Los Angeles as the Kings put up four goals and an empty netter to blow out the Blackhawks 5-2 to continue their dominance.

This was Chicago’s series after the first game but the Blackhawks will be lucky if they can even get a sniff of it again as they need to change things drastically. That’s all to the credit of the Kings for dominating the Blackhawks as Jonathan Quick has been a brick wall and the Kings offense has been on fire the past three games of this series.

Now, thanks to that powerful offense and stout defense of Quick, the Kings are a win away from another trip the Stanley Cup and a matchup against either the New York Rangers or Montreal Canadiens.
