If there is any place where Memorial Day will be celebrated with great fanfare, it will be in the nation’s capital of Washington, D.C.

There, the third-place Washington Nationals will open a home series against the second-place Miami Marlins in a day game accompanied by a memorial of those who have fallen and those who still serve in active duty in the United States military. Teams all across Major League baseball are wearing camouflaged and fatigue decorated jerseys to commemorate the day, and the Nationals have revealed which uniform they will be going with for Monday. They are the exact same ones the Nationals wore last year when they faced the Baltimore Orioles.

Fister ended a four-game losing streak for the Nationals on Sunday, going 5.1 innings, allowing one earned run as he got the win against Pittsburgh. On Memorial Day, Tanner Roark toes the rubber for the Nats in a key early-season matchup. Just a half-game separates the Marlins and Nationals from second place in the NL East.

The Nationals could have gone with their other patriotic jerseys, a navy blue top, featuring the curly-W filled in with stars and stripes, with white pants and red piping. The general consensus across baseball seems to be that the home whites will be worn by home teams with the logos and lettering in camouflage print.
