The nightmare surrounding Donald Sterling and the Los Angeles Clippers seems to now be drawing to a close. A few weeks ago Sterling’s racist beliefs were finally made widely known. Though he had a long history of racist actions, many people were unaware of both Sterling and his attitude.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

With the story blown open by recordings obtained by TMZ, however, Sterling could no longer hide, and the NBA could no longer look the other way on his horrible transgressions. But despite the fact that new commissioner Adam Silver stunted on Sterling by banning him for life, Sterling still remained owner of the Clippers.

Sterling hadn’t technically done anything illegal, so the league couldn’t just walk in and take the team away from him. They did have ways to pressure Sterling into giving up the team, and it appears that those tactics have finally paid off.

Despite the enormous price tag the Clips are sure to fetch, there are suitors lining up all over the place to purchase the team. Hopefully the sale will be conducted quickly and without too much drama. There has already been enough of that already.

There really isn’t too much else to say about this Sterling situation. He’s a terrible human being and I’m thankful the league is finally getting him up out of here. It should have been done years ago.
